Gateway Terminal operates three (3) main dry and liquid berths for ships and two (2) berths for barges.
Having five (5) berths available at our facility enables Gateway Terminal to handle several vessels and barges simultaneously to meet the on time loading and off loading requirements of our customers.
North and South Berth
North and South berths are located on Gateway Terminal's main 750' by 60' concrete finger pier. Visioning the future of larger vessels entering the U.S. tradelane, our pier was built to accommodate up to 70,000 deadweight ton vessels with a 36' draft at MLW. Two high speed FMC link-belt gantry cranes with a duty cycle capability of 50 ton lifts and a reach of 120' enable us to load/discharge a variety of dry cargoes at a rate up to 1000 Tons per hour.
Barge Docks
A 300' separate dock and a 225' wharf were constructed for the exclusive use of loading and discharging various dry bulk commodities we transport under Gateway Towing using our fleet of 15 vessels (tugs and barges).
